5 Things to Look for on your Supplement Label

There are many supplements on the market that claim to be high quality and safe, but not all should be considered trustworthy. When evaluating for quality supplement, we encourage you to look at the product label. Here are 5 important things to look for:

1. Guaranteed Analysis
A reliable and honest company isn’t afraid to list a guaranteed active ingredient analysis. Ingredients should be clearly noted on the label with how much of each active ingredient is being given to your horse per serving.

2. Lot Number and Best Buy Date
This means the company has a tracking system in place to ensure product quality and shows the company has evaluated product quality over time.

3. Manufacturer's Information
This should be clearly listed on the container, including a way to contact the company if you have a question.

4. Inactive Ingredient Transparency
A reputable company will list out all ingredients, including inactive ingredients in the formula. Inactive ingredients are necessary binding agents to the pelleting process. Each inactive ingredient serves a purpose and is an important part of the product's palatability. MVP never includes unnecessary ingredients as fillers.

5. NASC Seal
All of the MVP supplements have the NASC quality seal, which means you can trust you are buying a product from a reputable company who has successfully completed an independent quality audit.

When choosing a supplement, watch for red flags such as lack of label information or any evidence of quality-control measures. If a company is missing reliable information or data to support its claims, its integrity should be in question.
